Anze Kopitar’s amazing feat in the NHL – rose to the all-time number one!
Los Angeles Kings’ long-time Slovenian star Anze Kopitar, 38, scored two goals last night during the NHL round as the Kings lost to the New Jersey Devils 4-6.
With his goals, Kopitar made remarkable history. He became the all-time leading scorer in Kings franchise history, surpassing Marcel Dionne. Kopitar now has a total of 450+858=1,308 points in his NHL career. Dionne’s career points were 550+757=1,307.
Kopitar, who has represented the Kings throughout his entire NHL career, also leads the franchise’s all-time games played list with 1,505 games played and is at the top of the assists leaderboard. He is third in the goal-scoring list.
Kopitar started his NHL career in the 2006-07 season and has served as the Kings’ captain since the 2016-17 season. He has won two Stanley Cups during his career. Kopitar announced before the start of the season that this would be his last.
In the current season, Kopitar has recorded 30 points with 10 goals and 20 assists in 51 games.
