Antti Pennanen revealed more information about Teuvo Teräväinen’s injury
ZÜRICH. Teuvo Teräväinen’s World Championship ended unexpectedly after the first match due to an injury. The news of the injury was surprising, as Teräväinen played through the end of the Friday match and appeared to the media afterward as usual.
After the Hungary match on Saturday, Finland’s head coach Antti Pennanen revealed what the injury to Teräväinen was about. The Finnish forward had shown quite a bit of grit in the Germany match.
– He took a hit in the second period. It’s quite a performance to play through the game with that hand. He even assisted on a goal. It was like he was playing with one hand, Pennanen reveals.
Pennanen does not downplay the significance of Teräväinen’s absence.
– An extremely good player and a smart player. With a strong lion’s heart, he has gone through these last couple of years, so of course, it’s a big loss for us, Pennanen says.
