The head coach of the Lions Antti Pennanen confirmed to Finnish media on Thursday who will start in goal for the Lions in the World Championships starting on Friday. Justus Annunen will be the goalkeeper for Finland in the opening match against Germany.

Annunen, representing the Nashville Predators, played 28 games in the recently concluded NHL season with a save percentage of 90.7 and an average of 2.68 goals against. Last spring, he served as the third goalkeeper for the Lions in the World Championships.

The second playing goalkeeper for the Lions will primarily be Joonas Korpisalo, who played 31 games this season for the Boston Bruins with a save percentage of 89.4% and an average of 3.15.

In Thursday’s practice, the Lions were seen with the same lines as on Wednesday.
