MILANO.

The Lions play in the Olympic quarter-finals on Wednesday.

In Tuesday’s final practice, the whole team was on the ice after a couple of days off.

In the match against Italy, Anton Lundell was missing due to “illness.” Now Lundell has shared his current situation.

– I was sick. Nice to be back in shape now, Lundell said after practice.

– When I got sick, I was just in my room. I didn’t want to infect others. Completely understandable. I understand that there was no chance to leave the room.

We asked Lundell directly if it was a norovirus, which caused the Women’s Lions to even postpone their match at the beginning of the tournament.

– Yes, I had norovirus. I don’t know where it came from. Everyone knows that it has been here before. A mystery. I’ve tried to think about where it came from, but you can’t know. It can come from anywhere, Lundell said.

– I’m the only one who has had it. That’s a good thing. Good that we got it under control.

We also asked how the team reacted when they heard about the norovirus case.

– I don’t know, as I’ve been in my room. I haven’t had much chance to talk about anything else than to the toilet, Lundell said.

– Yeah, it has been a bit [long] these last few days. But it’s a quick illness. But it’s not fun to watch from the sidelines when you’re sick. The guys handled that last game well.

Now, according to Lundell, the situation has already normalized.

– I’ve tried to tank up as much as I can. Of course, at first, nothing stays inside. For me, it’s a good thing that we play tomorrow and I can get some training in.

– We’ve tried to get pasta into the system. In the last few days, I’ve just been in my room, recovering and eating. That way, it feels like I have energy again, not just lying in bed.
