Finland may still receive one more reinforcement for the NHL playoffs.

The Buffalo Sabres’ excellent season in the league ended when the Montréal Canadiens defeated the team in the seventh game.

Among the Finnish players, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen will not be seen in the tournament, as Finland has already stamped three tournament passes for the goaltending department.

Konsta Helenius, 20, may still be coming to the Lions’ roster.

Helenius had a strong season and scored a point per game in the minors. Once he got a chance in the NHL, the forward was in good form.

Helenius played nine regular-season games in the NHL with stats of 1+3 and scored two goals in four playoff games.

The Lions still have one tournament pass unmarked, as HPK’s Sami Päivärinta has been waiting for his turn. However, Helenius could grab the last spot.

Finland will next play against Latvia on Thursday.
