Anaheim dropped a massive contract news in the NHL
The Anaheim Ducks have signed Russian defenseman Pavel Mintyukov to a five-year contract extension. The total value is 36 million dollars, ensuring Mintyukov an annual salary of 7.2 million dollars.
Mintyukov, 22, was the Ducks’ tenth overall pick in the first round of the 2022 draft. In the past season, he recorded 22 points in 73 games with a scoring line of 8+14=22. Mintyukov has played three seasons in the NHL, and his record points were achieved in his rookie season, where he tallied 28 points.
Before signing the contract, Mintyukov was a restricted free agent, and there was reported interest from other NHL teams. Several teams considered making an offer sheet for the defenseman. Mintyukov’s wish was to continue with the Ducks, and thus the extension with the team was made.
