Last night, an unfortunate and rare accident occurred during the game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Buffalo Sabres. The cause of the incident was not found on the ice but behind the scenes.

In the situation, Tampa Bay forward Pontus Holmberg was propelled into the boards in the neutral zone due to the force of a check. The penalty box door had been left ajar, and Holmberg accidentally collided directly with the open door and injured his hand.

After the game, Tampa Bay’s head coach Jon Cooper did not hold back his words.

– I don’t know who they have working in the penalty box, but he should lose his job after what happened. He left the door open. Anyone from either team could have been injured.

Cooper had a short and harsh analysis of Holmberg’s health status.

– Not good.

Jon Cooper is calling for a penalty box attendant to lose his job after Pontus Holmberg was injured tonight when he fell into an open door 🤕😬

"I don't know who is working the penalty box over there, but I don't know if they should keep their job after what happened there.
