Alexander Nylander found a new team in the NHL.
Swedish forward Alexander Nylander, 28, is moving to the Calgary Flames on a tryout contract, reports PuckPedia. Nylander will participate in the Flames’ training camp.
Last season, Nylander played only in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies, where he also celebrated a championship at the end of the season. Nylander recorded 65 regular-season games with 24+29=53 points and 24 playoff games with 6+1 points.
Nylander is the eighth overall pick of the Buffalo Sabres in the first round of 2016. He has played 126 regular-season games (25+24=49) and eight playoff games in the NHL, representing not only Buffalo but also the Chicago Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Toronto Maple Leafs. Most recently, Nylander played in the NHL two seasons ago.
Nylander’s older brother is the superstar William Nylander, who plays in Toronto.
