Aleksandr Ovetshkin in trouble in Russia
The NHL’s all-time goal king Aleksandr Ovetshkin can’t exactly boast about his driving behavior during his recently concluded summer vacation.
According to Mash na sporte, the Russian star accumulated a staggering 33 traffic fines during his four-month summer vacation spent in his home country.
The fines were primarily for speeding, parking in prohibited areas, and driving on a toll road. The total cost of all these fines amounted to 82,000 rubles, which is about 840 euros.
At Ovetshkin’s income level, this is not exactly a financial disaster. The goal scorer has earned around 150 million euros in salary alone throughout his career.
According to the news, all fines were registered to the Aurus Arsenal minibus owned by Ovetshkin. However, there is no complete certainty that Ovetshkin himself was behind the wheel when the violations occurred.
According to a Russian source, Ovetshkin has paid off all but one of the fines he accumulated over the summer.
