Detroit Red Wings star forward Dylan Larkin’s future remains uncertain. The American, who requested a trade over the summer, has not yet been traded, but now the number of potential trade destinations appears to have increased.

Sportsnet reporter Elliotte Friedman states that Larkin would be willing to accept a trade to about eight NHL teams.

According to Friedman, the teams are the Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning, Colorado Avalanche, and Washington Capitals. He did not name the eighth team but does not believe there is any Canadian team on the list.

On Larkin’s original list were only Minnesota, Vegas, and Florida. Later, Dallas also emerged as a potential destination, and now there seem to be even more options.

Larkin’s trade request has led to significant changes in Detroit. The team announced before the start of training camp that Larkin will no longer continue as the team’s captain. Larkin served as the captain of the Red Wings for six seasons.

Larkin’s current contract runs through the summer of 2031, with an annual value of $8.7 million. The contract includes a full no-trade clause, so Detroit needs Larkin’s consent for any potential player trade.

Last season, Larkin collected 67 points in 74 games with a scoring line of 34+33.
