Rangers’ insider reporter Vince Z. Mercogliano reports on X that Rangers defenseman Carson Soucy is moving to the Islanders as part of the trade. Details of the trade are not yet known.
Mercogliano states that due to the impending trade, Soucy is out of the Rangers lineup as the team faces the Boston Bruins tonight.
Soucy, 31, was traded from the Vancouver Canucks to the Rangers during last season. He has played 46 games this season, scoring 3+5 points. Soucy’s contract, which guarantees a salary of $3.25 million, runs through the end of this season.
In addition to the Rangers and Canucks, Soucy has also represented the Minnesota Wild and Seattle Kraken. He has played a total of 411 regular season games in the NHL (30+65=95) and 38 playoff games (2+5).
