The Edmonton Oilers suffered a grim setback on Friday night during the NHL round, as the team’s new goaltender Tristan Jarry was injured in the game against the Boston Bruins.

Jarry managed to play only two full games in an Oilers jersey. The 30-year-old Canadian goalie arrived at the Oilers from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for goaltender Stuart Skinner.

Jarry left the game at the end of the second period. He injured himself in a seemingly harmless save situation. After Jarry’s injury, the Oilers called up backup goalie Calvin Pickard.

The Oilers are truly in trouble if Jarry’s injury turns out to be worse. Pickard is unlikely to be the number one goalie for the NHL championship favorite, so the team should consider acquiring a new goaltender.

No further information about Jarry’s injury was available after the game.

The Oilers ultimately defeated the Bruins by a score of 3–1.
