A new NHL boss has come to town – immediately a big player trade with Colorado!
Nashville Predators strengthened their offense by acquiring Ross Colton from Colorado. At the same time, the Predators received goaltending prospect Isak Posch.
In exchange, Colorado received goaltending prospect Magnus Chrona and two third-round draft picks. One of the picks is from this summer’s NHL draft and the other is from 2027.
The 29-year-old Colton is an experienced and reliable forward who fulfills his role in the lower lines. Last season, he played 73 games and recorded 9+15=24 points. This point total was the lowest of his NHL career since his rookie season.
Colton has one season left on his contract, which has a cap hit of four million dollars.
Colton is already a familiar face to the new Predators GM Chris MacFarland. MacFarland served as the GM of the Avalanche for four seasons before moving to Nashville in June.
