Canada started the Olympics with a convincing victory, as they defeated the Czech Republic 5-0 on Thursday.

However, Canada’s victory was overshadowed by an unfortunate setback. The team’s star defenseman Josh Morrissey was injured and had to leave the game early in the second period. There is no further information yet on the severity of the injury.

Canada finished the game with six defensemen. The team also has one more defenseman outside the lineup. He is Travis Sanheim.

With the Olympic tournament already underway, Canada can no longer name a replacement player for Morrissey if he is unable to continue in the tournament.

Josh Morrissey will not return...hopefully not serious.

Now that Canada has played, no injury replacement can be added to the roster
