A delicious speculation about Patrik Laine has dropped from North America.
As the NHL season approaches, the trade rumors and speculations around Patrik Laine are intensifying.
Sportsnet’s Albert Vartanian shared his view on which team should grab Laine for themselves. According to him, Laine could be a suitable acquisition for the Toronto Maple Leafs’ top lines.
– For the Leafs team, which is already tight against the salary cap, this is a deal that the GM can afford to try, Vartanian says.
According to Vartanian, there would definitely be room for reinforcement in Toronto’s offensive lineup, as there are plenty of question marks regarding the players. Laine has a realistic chance of securing a spot on the top lines.
– This situation feels like buying a lottery ticket. Instead of winning 50 million dollars, the Leafs could get a guy who scores 20 goals, most of them on the power play, Vartanian says.
– Acquiring Laine is not groundbreaking, but it’s worth a try, so go get him. A minimum deal, nothing more, and if it doesn’t work out, he can be put on the trade list.
