A big trade rumor has emerged about the NHL’s recent Olympic champion – “Will be traded next week”
The trade discussions surrounding Vincent Trocheck, who won gold in the ice hockey tournament at the Milano-Cortina Olympics wearing the USA jersey, have gained new momentum as the NHL trade deadline approaches.
According to reporter James Murphy, the Minnesota Wild is currently the closest to acquiring the New York Rangers’ star center.
– If Trocheck agrees to waive his no-trade clause, he will be traded before March 6. The buzz around the trade has increased with the Olympics, and now both parties are agreeing to the trade, Murphy reports.
The negotiations between the Rangers and the Wild are reportedly already far along.
– The Wild’s interest is genuine, and the trade package would revolve around Charlie Stramel and a first or second-round draft pick in the summer of 2027. The connection formed during the Olympics with (Wild GM) Bill Guerin adds even more fuel to the fire, Murphy claims.
Stramel, 21, is the Wild’s 1st round, 21st overall pick from the summer of 2021. The 191 cm forward has scored 40 points (19+21) in 30 games this season with the University of Michigan team.
The 32-year-old Trocheck has played 43 games this NHL season with stats of 12+24=36. The American star’s contract, which includes a $5.6 million annual salary, does not expire until the summer of 2029.
