The Boston Bruins defeated the Buffalo Sabres with a score of 4-2, leveling the playoff series at 1-1. Buffalo’s Finnish goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made a terrible mistake, and his game ended prematurely.

Boston’s Morgan Geekie lifted the puck with a backhand from the blue line towards the Buffalo goal. Luukkonen tried to catch the puck in his glove, but it bounced past him and eventually went into the back of the net. This hanging puck gave Boston a 2-0 lead.

Viktor Arvidsson had earlier opened the scoring for Boston in the second period, and later in the same period, Pavel Zacha scored the team’s third goal on the power play. At the start of the final period, Arvidsson scored his second goal of the night, after which Luukkonen was pulled from the Buffalo net after allowing four goals.

Luukkonen made 15 saves in the game. He was replaced in goal by Alex Lyon, who kept his net clean for the remainder of the game, recording seven saves.

Buffalo scored two more goals in the final period, but the deficit was already too large. The goals were scored by Bowen Byram and Peyton Krebs.

The series continues next in Boston. The third game will be played in the early hours of Friday, Finnish time.
