The star player left to skate – the puck boss got furious and criticized the Liiga club: “Going to such an average team”
The owner of Graz99ers, Herbert Jerich, has sharply criticized forward Lukas Haudum for his decision to move from the Austrian ICEHL league to TPS in Finland.
Haudum signed a one-year contract with TPS, but according to Jerich, the move is not justified from a sporting perspective. He shared his views with the Austrian Kleine Zeitung newspaper.
– I understand that Haudum wanted to go abroad. But I don’t understand why he would go to such a mediocre club. I am shocked that he made his choice for this team, Jerich said.
According to Jerich, the player would have had better options to stay in the ICEHL league, where visibility and opportunities for CHL games could have supported his career development.
In his assessment, the move will not bring Haudum any financial benefits compared to his previous club.
– In the CHL, he could have showcased his skills and ultimately moved to a bigger club, Jerich noted.
In the same context, Jerich also spoke about Graz99ers’ plans to replace the departed player. According to him, the club intends to acquire a significant reinforcement.
– The replacement will be a top-class player. The next best player in the ICEHL, Jerich said.
