Brady Tkachuk was traded to the Florida Panthers last night when he was not eager to sign an extension with the Ottawa Senators. Dylan Larkin has requested a trade from the Detroit Red Wings. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is unhappy with the Winnipeg Jets’ performances in recent seasons and may be on his way to a new team. Vincent Trocheck is rumored to want out of the New York Rangers.
Even Auston Matthews may be traded this summer from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
What connects all these players is one thing: they played on the United States’ gold medal team in the Olympics. It seems that players who have tasted success at the national team level want to achieve success at the club level as well.
