The Finnish Ice Hockey Association announced on Wednesday that the opening tournament of next season’s Euro Hockey Tour will be held in Helsinki from November 5 to 8, 2026. At the same time, the host city of the tournament will change, and the tournament will return to Helsinki’s Ilmala and Veikkaus arena.

The last EHT tournament was held at the arena in November 2021, when the hall was still known as Hartwall Arena.

The GM of the Lions, Jere Lehtinen, is pleased with the Lions’ return to a familiar environment.

– It’s great to be able to play in Ilmala again; it’s been a while since the last time. The arena has always provided excellent conditions for the teams, and I believe that other countries will also welcome the news of the tournament location with joy, Lehtinen commented in the association’s press release.

Ticket sales for the tournament will start on September 10 through Ticketmaster. VIP packages are already on sale now.

The Lions’ tournament will begin on Thursday, November 5, with a match against Switzerland.
