The landscape changes – Ilves defender’s contract terminated!
Ilves announces that it has mutually agreed to terminate the contract of defender Arttu Pelli with the player. The contract would have covered the next season.
Pelli, 29, represented Ilves for three seasons. In the past season, he recorded 15 points in 44 regular season games (4+11=15) and 2 points in 13 playoff games (0+2). Pelli achieved bronze with Ilves in the spring of 2025.
– We ultimately reached a mutual agreement that terminating our contract would be the most sensible solution for both parties at this moment. We thank Arttu for his work for Ilves and wish him all the best for the future, commented Ilves’ sports director Timo Koskela in the club’s statement.
– We discussed things together in a good spirit, and in the end, seeking new challenges felt like the right solution. I warmly thank the entire Ilves organization, the club community, and all the people I have worked with over the years, Pelli says.
In the Liiga, Pelli has previously represented HPK and KooKoo. He has played a total of 560 regular season games (53+128=181) and 33 playoff games (1+13=14) in the Liiga.
