The Ässät goalkeeper leaves the Liiga – here is the new address
Finnish goalkeeper Filip Lindberg, 27, who played for Ässät last season, is moving to Slovakia with a contract covering next season. His new team is HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas.
Lindberg served as the backup goalkeeper for Ässät this past season. He played a total of 20 regular season games for the club and recorded a save percentage of 88.8.
Lindberg played in the Liiga for the previous three seasons. He also represented TPS, HPK, and Tappara, playing a total of 67 regular season games and 17 playoff games.
Before arriving in the Liiga, Lindberg played in North America in the AHL and in the NCAA. He was originally drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the 7th round in 2019, but ultimately signed an NHL contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Lindberg won the U20 World Championship with the Young Lions in 2019.
