SS: The Golden Lion will not return to the Liiga – will continue playing abroad

Finnish defenseman Mikael Seppälä, 31, is set to continue his career abroad next season as well. This was reported by Savon Sanomat.
There have been several rumors about Seppälä’s return to the Finnish Liiga during the spring, but at least at this point, he is not coming back to the Finnish ice. Previously, Seppälä had been linked to his former clubs, KalPa and Tappara.
For the past two seasons, Seppälä has been playing in the SHL with HV71. Prior to that, he spent several years in the Liiga. Seppälä has won two Finnish championships and one CHL championship with Tappara.
Seppälä has participated in four World Championships with the Finnish national team. He won the World Championship in spring 2022 and earned a silver medal in 2021.
