Swedish forward Linus Öberg, 25, is moving to the Liiga for the next season. Expressen reports that Öberg’s negotiations are in the final stages with an unnamed Liiga team.

Öberg has played his entire career in his home country. For the last two seasons, he has represented Malmö Redhawks. This season, he scored 13+5=18 points in 52 regular season games and 2+1 in six playoff games.

In the SHL, Öberg has also previously represented Frölunda and Örebro. In his best season, he scored 17 goals while playing for Örebro.

Öberg is a 7th round draft pick (#206) of the San Jose Sharks from 2020.

From his trophy cabinet, Öberg has a U20 World Championship bronze from 2020. Sweden won against the Young Lions in the bronze medal match with a score of 3-2, and Öberg scored the winning goal for Sweden.
