SaiPa showed muscle in the transfer market! Caught two Canadian reinforcements
SaiPa has acquired two foreign reinforcements for next season’s team. The Lappeenranta club has signed one-year contracts with forward Nick Zabaneh, 25, and defender Andrew Peskin, 29.
Zabaneh had an impressive season in the ECHL. The forward scored 51 points with 27 goals and 24 assists in 69 regular-season games.
– Nick is a very fast-skating forward with a lot of potential, and we want him to strengthen our upcoming team. Like Peskin, I have heard a lot of good things about him, so we are looking forward to his arrival in the yellow and black, commented SaiPa’s sports director Harri Aho in the club’s press release.
Peskin, on the other hand, has played the last two seasons in Denmark’s top league. This season, he served as the captain of Rungsted Seier Capital and collected 12 points with 3 goals and 9 assists in 45 games. Peskin is 185 centimeters tall and weighs 97 kilograms.
– Peskin is a physically strong, defensive defender whose strengths are clearly in defensive play. He possesses exactly the qualities we hope for in our defense. I have also heard a lot of good things about him as an experienced team player. This is certainly evidenced by his selection as team captain last season, Aho says.
