Pelicans strengthens its lineup with Swedish forward Christoffer Forsberg, 31.

The center arrives in Lahti on a two-year contract from Malmö Redhawks, where he managed to rise to the status of a club icon.

Forsberg played a total of 516 SHL games in Malmö, which is a club record. The veteran, who served as the team’s captain for the last five seasons, represented the Redhawks for a total of ten seasons.

– This two-way center brings solid experience, defensive skills, and everyday leadership to Pelicans. He is a winning team player who may not shine in the scoring charts but is an extremely important part of a successful team’s structure, Pelicans’ sports director Janne Laukkanen described the arrival of the diligent penalty killer to the team.
