Markus Nurmi signed a major extension with Luleå: “Significant factor”
Luulaja playing in SHL has signed a two-season extension with forward Markus Nurmi.
– Markus Nurmi was a significant factor in our success last spring, when he showed what he is capable of, and in our opinion, he has built on that foundation this season by maintaining a high level of play, commented Luulaja’s sports director Thomas Froberg.
– He always tries his best, which gives energy both on the ice and in the stands. Based on what I have mentioned earlier and how well he enjoys being in Luulaja and with the team, there wasn’t much to think about, and it’s great that we were able to sign the extension at this stage.
At the end of last season, Nurmi celebrated the Swedish championship in Luulaja. He recorded strong stats of 2+12=14 in 17 playoff games. This season, he has scored 9+4=13 points in 19 regular season games.
