Last spring’s league champion KalPa announced its team for the next season on Thursday. At the same time, the continuation of several key core players in Kuopio was confirmed along with six new signings.

Among the familiar names, goalkeeper Stefanos Lekkaksen‘s contract extends until spring 2028. The contract would have covered the next season, but KalPa wanted to secure their star goalie for an even longer period. Also, Patrik Kerkola will continue with the club until spring 2027.

In defense, continuity is provided by Ville Ruotsalainen, Veikka Mononen, and Lukáš Kaňák, whose contracts extend until spring 2028. Lasse Lappalainen, on the other hand, will remain in Kuopio until 2027.

In the attack, KalPa retains its important names: Joona Saarelainen, Konsta Kapanen, and Juuso Könönen will continue in Kuopio, and the club also exercised the option in Cade Borchardt‘s contract for the next season.

Additionally, KalPa will strengthen with several new names. In defense, Joonas Lyytinen and Mitja Jokinen, whose contract is a remarkable three years long, will join. In the attack, Elias Vilén, Otto Somppi, Samuel Jung, and Jesper Piitulainen are added.
