The 26-year-old defender is currently playing in the Swedish top league SHL for Timrå IK.
According to IS’s sources, the contract between Pilö and HIFK is close to completion. The right-shooting defender has played 38 games in the SHL this season and has collected four assists.
Pilö is already familiar to HIFK’s head coach Olli Jokinen, as the duo worked together in Timrå last season. Pilö has over 300 games in the SHL under his belt, and his most effective season in the league brought 14 points in the regular season.
