Pekka Jormakka‘s return from Slovakia to the league meant significantly smaller net earnings. The forward, who is on trial with Jukurit, tells Iltalehti how great the financial temptation in Zvolen would have been.

– Because of taxes, I would have ended up with almost double the amount there, Jormakka reveals.

Jormakka played only six games in Slovakia. He says he wanted to return to Finland to be with his family, but the club justified the separation by the forward’s insufficient performances.

According to Jormakka, his agent conveyed a completely different message.

– There has been a lot of talk that I’m lying when the club announced they didn’t want to continue, but I was just listening to my agent, and he told me that the club would have liked to extend the tryout by a month, Jormakka says.

Extending the trial period did not work for Jormakka. In Finland, Jukurit’s head coach Jonne Virtanen called and offered the opportunity to showcase his skills in Mikkeli, where the forward had previously played for three years.

Jormakka now lives with his family in Mikkeli. He has played three games for Jukurit without scoring points and is aiming for a player contract.
