HPK announced excellent news on Thursday.

The forward Anrei Hakulinen, recruited for a leading role in Hämeenlinna this season, has recovered to playing condition after a long injury layoff and is ready to return to action. Hakulinen states in an interview with HPK that if everything goes well, he will play his season opener tomorrow, Friday, when HPK faces TPS in their home game.

Hakulinen, 35, who has been named HPK’s alternate captain, was injured during the preseason and consequently sidelined for several months. He has only played practice matches for HPK so far in August.

Hakulinen played in Germany for the past two seasons. In the league, he has previously represented Pelicans, KooKoo, and Lukko, where he won the Finnish championship in 2021.
