Finnish defender Robin Salo, 27, enjoys high regard in Sweden.

The Swedish newspaper Expressen has given Salo plenty of column space and praise in its SHL season preview. He moved from Malmö to Örebro this summer.

– Robin Salo is definitely one of the best and biggest acquisitions for the upcoming season, the newspaper writes.

Salo has naturally been highlighted in the section discussing Malmö. The departure of the Finnish defenseman is a significant loss for the club.

– The club lost Robin Salo, and that cannot go unnoticed. Still, it feels like Malmö has coped with the situation in the best possible way. If Salo used to log 27 minutes every night, now the responsibility is much more widely shared, the preview states.

Salo’s season in Malmö was excellent. He recorded 40 points with 7 goals and 33 assists in 52 regular season games.
