A Canadian forward who has been dominating in the ECHL is moving to the Liiga!
Pori Ässät has acquired an interesting reinforcement for their offensive lineup. The club has signed a one-year contract with Canadian Simon Pinard.
Pinard, 25, has played his entire previous career in North America. In the current season, he scored impressive points of 30+43=73 in 70 games with the South Carolina Stingrays in the ECHL, clearly being the team’s top scorer. In the league’s scoring race, Pinard was fourth.
In the last three seasons, Pinard has played a total of 192 games in the ECHL with impressive stats of 87+98=185.
– Simon has been very effective at the ECHL level and has a strong desire to develop and advance in his career. Overall, he is a very interesting addition to our team. Simon has
excellent offensive skills, a good shot, and in addition, he plays a strong two-way game and can take responsibility in both power play and penalty kill, Ässät’s sports director Jarno Kultanen commented in the club’s press release.
Pinard has also played 20 AHL games in the last three seasons with stats of 0+2.
