Ville Peltonen found a new job!
The Swiss club HC Ajoie has appointed Ville Peltonen as their new head coach on a two-year contract.
Peltonen moves to Ajoie from Genève-Servette HC, where he served last season first as an assistant coach and later also as head coach during the season.
Ajoie is also extensively renewing its team after a difficult last season, which ended in last place in the league. The club has announced that it will not be renewing contracts for 11 players as part of the overhaul.
Joining Peltonen’s coaching staff is Samuel Tilkanen, and Petteri Nummelin will continue as an assistant coach.
According to the club, the choice is based on Peltonen’s ability to develop teams and build a clear playing identity.
– That is exactly what we are looking for. His task is clear: to restore Ajoie’s playing identity and pride on the ice and to elevate the club higher in the league standings.
