The league’s superstar was thrown into the shower for biting – victim to MTV: “A tooth went through the nail”
TPS’s star forward Lukas Wernblom received an unusual ejection in Saturday’s Liiga match against Lukko. He was thrown out for biting.
Wernblom bit Lukko’s defender Peetro Seppälä on the hand during a scuffle in front of the goal.
The bitten Seppälä briefly commented on the unusual situation during a break in the second period in an interview with MTV.
– I don’t know if I should elaborate on it any further. A tooth went through the skin. But that’s that, moving on, Seppälä said.
The match commentator Toni Saukkola also asked Seppälä if he thought the biting was a valid reason for the ejection.
– Yes, Seppälä confirmed.
In addition to the ejection, the case was forwarded to the Liiga’s disciplinary delegation for review.
