Vaasan Sport secured a reinforcement from another Liiga team
Vaasan Sport has acquired a reinforcement for its defense for the next season. Valtteri Viljanen, 32, moves to Sport’s defense with a one-year contract.
– Viljanen is an experienced returnee who has played for Sport and traveled the world since then. It must be highlighted the game routine and versatility he has. He can defend tightly and be physical, but at the same time, he can play with the puck and build the game. He is capable of being a power play defenseman and certainly a leader in our defense, head coach Lauri Mikkola states in the club’s announcement.
Viljanen is a familiar face in Sport, as he has represented the club for five years previously. In the last two seasons, he has played for Porin Ässät. This season, he scored 15 points in 43 games with stats of 3+12=15. His plus-minus rating was 14 below zero.
