Vaasan Sport dropped a big contract news!
Vaasan Sport announced a significant contract news on Saturday. Goalie Joni Ortio, 34, will continue in Vaasa with a one-year extension.
– It’s great that we got Joni to continue with us for the upcoming season. Now we are certainly in an excellent position regarding the goaltending department, as Joni shares the save responsibility with Masi. Joni has proven to be not only a good goalie but also an extremely important piece for the team off the ice, Sport’s sports director Ari-Pekka Pajuluoma tells on Sport’s website.
Ortio has played 20 games this season between the posts for Vaasan Sport. In those, his save percentage has been 88.3.
Recently, Sport has mainly seen players leaving. Vaasa has already let go of Johan Sundström, Branden Troock, Sebastian Stålberg, Kalle Miketinac and Viljami Nieminen in clearance sales.
