Urheilucast: The Lions make an incredible announcement to the league’s superstar – “Cowardice”
The winner of the league’s scoring race, Tappara’s Benjamin Rautiainen, has received a eyebrow-raising announcement from the Lions’ management, claims Urheilucast.
According to the podcast host Esko Seppänen, there currently seems to be no role for the 20-year-old Tappara star in the Finnish national team’s lineup for the World Championships to be held in Switzerland this spring.
– Rautiainen has already been informed that he is not part of the preliminary plans for the Lions’ World Championship team in his role.
– In my opinion, that’s cowardice and weakness. I would hope to see such players, once-in-a-generation stories and seasons, jumping into that tidal wave here at home, Seppänen states directly in his style.
Rautiainen scored an impressive 25+52=77 points in the 59 games he played in the league’s regular season. Seppänen compares the highly confident Rautiainen to Mikael Granlund, who led both HIFK and the Lions to championships in the spring of 2011.
