Urheilucast: Tappara made a tough heist from Raimo Helmisen SaiPa!
Raimo Helmisen led SaiPa is experiencing a tough loss as defender Teemu Kivihalme is moving to Tappara for the next season, reports Urheilucast.
Kivihalme, 30, has played 60 games for SaiPa this season with a scoring record of 9+18=27. The Finnish-American defender has previous experience with Kärpät, where he won the championship in the spring of 2018. He has also played for TPS, SHL team Malmö Redhawks, and in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies.
According to Esko Seppänen, the host of Urheilucast, Tappara’s GM Janne Vuorinen has also traveled to North America to meet with Topias Vilén and Aatu Jämseni, who are currently playing in the AHL. The Tampere club is believed to be pursuing the duo.
Seppänen states that Vuorinen has sold the young players the story that a career at Tappara will take off under the new head coach Kari Jalonen.
