Urheilucast reports that Joensuu Kiekko-Pojat is making a change to its coaching staff for the upcoming season, as Risto Dufva takes on the role of head coach. He is moving into this position from his role as assistant coach.
Urheilucast Esko Seppänen estimates Dufva’s annual salary to be around 100,000 euros, which is exceptionally high at the Mestis level. Last season, he earned about 60,000 euros with Jokers.
Kiekko-Pojat’ season ended in disappointment after a long losing streak, as the team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Jokers.
The 62-year-old Dufva has won four Mestis championships in his career.
