Urheilucast: Kärpät capturing another Liiga team’s star defenseman
Kärpät is making a notable defensive acquisition for the next season, reports Urheilucast.
The podcast host Esko Seppänen claims that Kärpät has signed a contract for the next season with Ässät’s star defender Kasper Puutio.
– According to UC, Ässät’s alternate captain, star defenseman Puutio is moving back to Oulun Kärpät.
– He is exactly the type of player that Kärpät would prefer at this point. A versatile proactive puck handler, genuine on-ice courage, smart, intelligent high-standard hockey. He is a quality player for Kärpät, Seppänen continues.
Puutio, 23, has played 15 games this season with stats of 2+7=9. The Kärpät graduate, representing Ässät for the second season, scored 7+18=25 points in 42 regular-season games last season. In the playoffs, the defender recorded 1+4=5 points in 10 games.
