Jyväskylä JYP is negotiating a critically important contract for the next season behind the scenes.
Urheilucast’s host Esko Seppänen reports that JYP has signed a contract extension with forward Santeri Huovila.
According to Seppänen, Jokerit had also approached Huovila with the hope of bringing the club’s former junior into next season’s Liiga team.
The 21-year-old Huovila is having a real breakout season in the Liiga. Before his injury, he recorded an impressive 9+20=29 points in 20 games. Huovila is likely to be out for a few more months.
According to Urheilucast, Huovila will therefore be seen in the Liiga next season. However, it is possible that the contract includes an option for abroad.
