KalPa’s forwards Benjamin Korhonen and Jaakko Lantta are reportedly set to receive substantial salary increases next season at Ilves. The transfers of the players to the Tampere club were reported last year by Aamulehti.

According to Urheilucast host Esko Seppänen, Korhonen’s gross salary at Ilves will rise to about 175,000 euros, while Lantta’s seasonal earnings are around 140,000 euros.

The 24-year-old Korhonen is having his breakout season in the Liiga. He recorded 25 points with 6 goals and 19 assists in 46 regular season games and even made it to the Finnish national team EHT squad.

Lantta is particularly known for his high-quality defensive play. However, his salary can still be considered quite high, as the forward’s point record is 14 points in a season.

Ilves is currently playing in the Liiga playoffs in the quarter-finals against KalPa. Ilves leads the series 3-2.
