Urheilucast: HIFK’s star is leaving – Jokerit and Kiekko-Espoo cast their nets!
Defender Petteri Lindbohm, who has left HIFK, is attracting interest in the Liiga. According to Urheilucast, Kiekko-Espoo and Jokerit have been in contact with the experienced defender.
The 32-year-old Lindbohm is a product of HIFK, but he has also represented Jokerit during his career in both the Liiga and KHL.
Urheilucast host Esko Seppänen discussed Lindbohm’s departure and the background related to it in the broadcast.
– The reason is known to everyone, even if no one says it out loud. In that role, at that salary, in that position, your best quality is your availability on game days. In the last 180 games, he was available exactly half the time, that is, in 91 games. That is simply not enough.
Lindbohm’s recent seasons have been plagued by injuries, resulting in a low number of games played. In the 2024–25 season, he played 19 games for HIFK with stats of 0+4=4. This season, he played 27 games with stats of 3+5=8.
