HIFK is looking for a new reinforcement, as Sebastian Repo, who transferred from Lukko to the Helsinki club for this season, suffered a serious injury over the weekend. Due to the injury, Repo may be sidelined for a long time.

Possible replacement options were discussed in Urheilucast. Esko Seppänen highlighted three available players: Joona Luoto, Otto Koivula, and as a wildcard Oula Palve.

Seppänen considers Luoto’s move to Finland unlikely at the moment. However, he believes the situation could change if HIFK is willing to offer a sufficiently large contract.

All three players would be significant acquisitions for HIFK. Seppänen jokingly suggested in the discussion that the final solution might be Pekka Jormakka.

HIFK has the financial capacity to make even big decisions. The Helsinki club’s player budget is the largest in the league, and GM Janne Laukkanen has shown he is ready for significant player movements.

According to Urheilucast, HIFK was also interested in Jonne Tammela. However, Tammela did not end up in Helsinki, as Tappara announced his transfer to the club on Sunday.
