Urheilucast claims: HIFK is trying to steal a leading figure from another Liiga club.

The league’s bottom team HIFK is looking for a new sports director.
According to Urheilucast’s host Esko Seppänen, Janne Laukkanen has emerged as a candidate to replace the former sports director Janne Pesonen. Pesonen’s contract was terminated earlier this week.
Seppänen reports that HIFK’s former GM Tom Nybondas has opened a line of communication with Laukkanen, who has been involved in building the Pelicans’ silver teams for 2023 and 2024.
This season and last season have been challenging for the Pelicans. Last season, the team played in the Liiga relegation playoffs, and currently, the club is third from the bottom in the standings.
