Urheilucast: Aleksi Saarela jumping to another Liiga team!

Aleksi Saarela will not continue with TPS next season, reports Urheilucast. According to Esko Seppänen, Saarela has made a deal with Lukko, although the official announcement is still pending due to an overseas clause.
Saarela also negotiated with TPS, but a three-year contract would have required an investment of about one million euros, which was too much for the Turku team.
The 29-year-old center last played for Lukko in the 2020–21 season after returning from the NHL. This season, he scored 35 points (20+15) in 53 games with TPS.
Saarela’s return to Lukko may mainly be threatened by offers from SHL teams. His brother Antti Saarela is also signed with Rauma for next season.
