The head coach of Tappara Fredrik Norrena has been the subject of unusual reports. Urheilucast Esko Seppänen reports that Norrena has resorted to an extraordinary measure in search of solutions to the Tampere club’s gameplay issues.

According to Seppänen, Norrena has started a kind of emergency call round to his former teammates, whose active careers ended decades ago. The aim has been to seek advice on developing Tappara’s playing style.

– He is asking these ex-hockey players, who are completely out of touch with modern hockey, what they would change in Tappara’s playing style and what they could work out together to improve it. He is calling people who have no connection to today’s top hockey. They were at their best in their careers 26 years ago.

Seppänen criticizes Norrena’s actions harshly. According to him, Tappara’s situation has reached an alarming point.

– The whole million-dollar circus has fallen into the lap of an incompetent man.

Seppänen also highlights Tappara’s GM Janne Vuorinen, who, in his opinion, should have been prepared for the current situation earlier.

– My first impression of Norrena’s lifeline was weak, but now it is downright catastrophic. This Kari Jalonen unfortunate scenario has been known to GM Vuorinen.

Seppänen expects quick solutions from the club’s management. He raises Jouko Myrrä as a possible new option.

– He needs to fix this matter without delay. I would be really, really surprised if Jouko Myrrä doesn’t find himself at Tappara very soon.
