Rauman Lukko has provided new information regarding the injury situations of three of its forwards. Santeri Virtanen and Lenni Hämäläinen will be sidelined for a long time. Antti Saarela will also be on sick leave for several weeks.

Virtanen’s surgery has been successfully carried out as planned, and his rehabilitation has begun. The exact return schedule is not yet known, but according to Lukko, the forward’s absence is expected to last several months.

The 27-year-old Virtanen was injured in a match against Tappara on October 16. His leg was twisted during a tackle by Tappara’s Jyrki Jokipakka.

Virtanen moved to Lukko from Kiekko-Espoo for this season. He has played seven Liiga matches this season, scoring 1+1.

Hämäläinen’s absence is also expected to be lengthy. The forward will undergo surgery this week, and according to the current estimate, he will return to playing condition in February.

Hämäläinen has played 15 matches this season. He was last in Lukko’s lineup on October 20 against HIFK.

Saarela is expected to return to action in week 47 or 48, so according to the current estimate, he will be seen in Lukko’s lineup again in the latter half of November. Saarela played against TPS last Friday but was absent from Saturday’s match.

Saarela has played 16 matches this season and has recorded 3+10=13 points.
