Two Finnish coaches familiar from the League: new job abroad
The Austrian team Pioneers Vorarlberg, playing in the multinational ICEHL league, has hired two Finnish coaches. The team has appointed Janne Grönvall as the new head coach and Marko Ojanen as his assistant coach.
Grönvall, 52, served as an assistant coach for Sport for the last two seasons. In the league, he has previously also worked as an assistant coach for Tappara and KooKoo. This new head coaching position is Grönvall’s first at the adult level.
Ojanen, 53, was the video coach for the Under-20 Lions last season. In the league, he has worked as an assistant coach for Tappara, Ilves, and most recently HIFK.
The roster of Pioneers Vorarlberg also includes Finnish representation. The team recently acquired Ville Immonen and Marcus Kallionkieli, and Roni Allen, who has played for the team for two seasons, will continue with the team next season as well.
Last season, Pioneers Vorarlberg finished 12th out of 13 teams in the ICEHL.
